As you can see on the site, my work focuses on many subjects including landscapes, portraits, animals and architecture. I work mainly with acrylic paint on canvas but also love the quality that can be achieved with a simple pencil. I love to try and tell a story with a painting and this can be done in many ways including the tools someone might use in their trade, something about the place they are located or simply a hint of what the weather was doing. I will always shuffle and compose a picture to make the perspective and other elements as effective, prominent or subtle as possible, depending on the intentions.

I have exhibited work over the years both as a solo artist as well as part of local art societies.

I have taken a whole range of commissions over the years and have described some of these on the site. For me, a commission for a painting is similar to a brief for an illustrator - this is what I originally trained in as an artist, and I always urge the client to talk about the content of their painting and if they have any particular requests or would like to include - or omit anything.
